Montpellier, July 27th 2024
This is such a lovely city during summer – the small winding roads and squares creates a special atmosphere during the evenings, with its endless display of street cafées filled with locals and tourists.

The «mont» in Montpellier is a large promenade on top of the hill, with an inpressive arch, and an aqueduct built in the 18th century, as key features.

In the early morning light it is a completely different atmosphere up there. The same goes for the empty strets.

Not only old winding streets – in the 80s a new part of the city was developed, in a quite monumental style.

On this last day I also got to visit an oyster producer south of Montpellier, along Étang the Thau, which is the biggest oyster field in Feance.

As a last round before leaving for the airport I was able to admire the aqueduct close up, the area around it is currently being renovated.

So it is goodbye for this vacation, no trip planned until end of August, when I am travelling with friends to Beograd.
