Hoi An – arrival

Hoi An, Vietnam, February 20th 2024

As mid-morning approached, we disembarked from our Ha Long overnight cruise boat and were chauffeured to the airport for the next leg of our journey – Hoi An.

Upon our arrival in Da Nang late in the afternoon, we drove along illuminated seaside resort landscapes one hour south towards our destination in Hoi An.

Already being evening, and with a full day of transport behind us, we decided on a small dinner at a local restaurant where we got the first chance to get a taste of some of the local specialities here in Hoi An.

The top right became an instant favourite – “Hoi An pizza” with fresh seafood and vegetables

We also got the first glimpse of how beautiful the hotel looked, and was pleased by the fact that the beach bar was still open.

Tomorrow we have arranged a small town walk around Hoi An, and look forward to learning more about this once bustling stop on the silk road from China and Japan.
