Bordeaux – streets & sights

Bordeaux, July 22nd 2024

First: 13 years have passed – never forget the horrible event in Oslo and at Utøya. Two candles lit – one for remembrance of that event, and one for all of those living in fear for their beliefs, orientation or engagement.

Bordeaux is a city with large classical and monumental buildings. Scattered around the city you will find beautiful churches and other public buildings.

Getting around is easy – mainly pedestian streets, and nice squares everywhere.

The first evening I found a nice hotel rooftop bar with excellent view.

The wine growers union in Bordeaux has a very nice tasting room which I also took the opportunity to pay a visit.

Today I took a short stroll around the dock area north of the city centre.

This boat had a nice rooftop
Extraterrestial artwork
Old nazi submarine bunker, too sturdy to tear down, so it now houses a museum

As it was Monday today, both this and most other museums were closed, but I did go to two wine museums, will be in a separate post. Tomorrow: train to Toulouse
